Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed its commitment to developing a sequel to the immensely popular action RPG, Hogwarts Legacy. Having sold over 24 million copies since its release, the game's success has cemented its place as the best-selling title of 2023. During the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels highlighted the sequel as a key priority.

"Developing a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is a top priority for us in the next few years," Wiedenfels stated, as reported by Variety. "We anticipate significant growth from our games business, and this sequel will be a major contributor."

Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games' David Haddad spoke with Variety, emphasizing the game's high replayability as a major factor in its success. "Many players have returned to the game multiple times," Haddad noted.
