Netflix Is Launching Its First MMO Spirit Crossing Later This Year

Netflix is venturing into the MMO realm with Spirit Crossing, a charming life-sim developed by Spry Fox, announced at GDC 2025. Fans of Spry Fox's previous titles, like Cozy Grove and Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, will recognize the warm pastel visuals, calming music, and emphasis on community over competition.

What We Know About Netflix's *Spirit Crossing*

Explore a vast world, build and decorate homes, and cultivate a thriving village alongside others. Gather resources, ride adorable creatures, join dance parties, and simply relax with friends.

Visually, Spirit Crossing draws inspiration from Studio Ghibli, French comics, and even a touch of modern art styles like Corporate Memphis. The design aims for a timeless and familiar feel, creating a space players might want to inhabit for years.

The game features a unique in-game calendar system impacting progression. Planted trees won't instantly grow; they'll take three to six real-world months to mature into a harvestable orchard. This long-term, slow-paced approach mirrors Spry Fox's experimentation in Cozy Grove.

Meaningful connections are central to the design. Studio co-founder David Edery envisions Spirit Crossing as a place transforming strangers into friends.
