Indus Earns Five Million Downloads with Successful Manila Playtest

by Henry Jan 01,2025

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, has achieved remarkable success, surpassing five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads within just two months of its release. This follows its triumph at the Google Play Awards, earning the title of Best Made in India Game 2024, and a successful international playtest in Manila.

This significant milestone underscores SuperGaming's ambitious goal to establish Indus as a leading force in Indian gaming, outpacing competitors such as FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest, held at the YGG Play Summit, provided valuable feedback from local esports professionals.

Further bolstering its esports aspirations, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, culminating in the Indus International Tournament. This tournament, running from October 2024 to February 2025, boasts a substantial INR 2.5 crore (approximately $31,000) prize pool.

Impressive Growth, Continued Expansion

While the five million downloads fall slightly short of the initial ten million pre-registrations (a common occurrence), the figures remain highly impressive. The relatively lower iOS download numbers suggest a need to further penetrate that market segment.

SuperGaming's proactive approach, including rapid international playtests and the launch of a major esports tournament, clearly demonstrates its ambitious vision for Indus's future growth.
