REPO

REPO's developers have unveiled exciting plans for the game's future, including a game-changing "duck bucket" designed to neutralize the terrifying duck that plagues players. Read on to discover more about upcoming updates and the insightful feedback from the creator of Lethal Company.

REPO's First Update Details

The Duck Bucket: A Weapon Against the Feathered Foe

REPO

REPO's first update introduces a brand-new map and the highly anticipated "duck bucket"—a solution to the persistent problem of the murderous duck. Semiwork Studios showcased these upcoming additions in a YouTube video released on March 15th.

REPO is a thrilling online co-op horror game supporting up to six players. Teams work together to extract valuable items from a terrifying world. Players often encounter The Apex Predator, a seemingly harmless yellow duck that transforms into a fearsome monster upon being damaged or picked up, attacking players for ten seconds before reverting to its innocent guise.

The "duck bucket" will allow players to safely contain this feathered menace, preventing it from pursuing players and avoiding accidental triggering of its monstrous form by teammates. The update will also include new facial expressions and other quality-of-life improvements.

"The Museum": A New Map and Public Lobbies on the Horizon

REPO

Semiwork Studios has also announced a new map, "The Museum," designed to challenge players' parkour skills. Extraction points will feature clearer visual boundaries to easily identify loot eligible for extraction.

Responding to player feedback, the developers are actively working on implementing public lobbies. They stated, "As an overwhelming majority seems fine with matchmaking where you can either host public or private, together with a kick button, that's what we'll be looking into. Adding a kick button might sound simple, but it involves server coding, a new area for us." While acknowledging the complexities involved, the team anticipates this feature in a future update.

Lethal Company Creator Weighs In on REPO

Since its February release, REPO has drawn comparisons to the popular co-op horror game, Lethal Company, due to shared gameplay mechanics and themes. On March 15th, Lethal Company's creator, Zeekers, offered constructive criticism via a Twitter (X) post.

Zeekers praised the game's fun factor, stating, "REPO is fun. At first I thought I didn't like it since I felt so slow (and voice chat range is too small!) But everyone in the group working together to move a grand piano through a cramped old mansion without scraping it--that is like the most funny objective for a horror game."

He further elaborated in the comments, suggesting improvements: "#1. Voice chat range needs increased, and the muffling is too much. #2. The levels with vast open space don't suit the game's design very well (similarly to Phasmophobia); it shines most in the cramped mansion layout."

Addressing concerns about stealth enemies, Zeekers added, "Yeah, there also needs to be an in-game way to learn about how enemies work, but I'm sure they're planning that."

R.E.P.O., currently exclusive to PC, is a viral sensation. It's currently the second best-selling game on Steam, trailing only Counter-Strike 2, and boasts over 230,645 concurrent players—approaching Lethal Company's all-time peak of 240,817. For the latest REPO news, check out the article below!
