"Dead by Daylight Devs Eye The Thing and Cujo as Top Killer Picks"

The popular asymmetrical horror game, Dead by Daylight, is set to introduce Five Nights at Freddy’s into its universe, but the developers at Behaviour Interactive have their eyes on even more horror icons to join the fray. In a recent chat with IGN, the team shared their aspirations for future additions to the game's roster of Killers and Survivors.

Jason Guzzo, a Killer Designer and horror enthusiast at Behaviour Interactive, has been instrumental in bringing notable Killers such as Chucky, Dracula, and Springtrap into Dead by Daylight. While every crossover is a milestone for both the studio and its community, Guzzo has a particular franchise he's passionate about: The Thing. "I have been here for two and a half years, and I have been on a crusade to figure out how to get The Thing into Dead by Daylight," Guzzo expressed. Despite his enthusiasm, he clarified that his desire doesn't necessarily indicate upcoming plans, citing potential design challenges in adapting the mimic-based horror into a playable game format.

Meanwhile, Dead by Daylight's Creative Director, Dave Richard, mentioned that discussions about dream Killers are a common occurrence within the team. While iconic figures like Pennywise are often considered, Richard's ambitions extend further. "There are other kings of horror that would be amazing to have," he stated, hinting at a desire to encompass a wide array of horror legends. Richard also playfully suggested less conventional options like Cujo, the rabid dog from Stephen King's works, and Christine, the killer car, acknowledging the challenges but also the potential for innovative gameplay.

As Dead by Daylight approaches its ninth anniversary, the game continues to expand with new content. The upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s Chapter, set to launch on June 17, will introduce Springtrap and a new pizzeria map.
