by Dylan Apr 05,2025

Krafton, the South Korean gaming giant, announced that its latest title, inZOI, has shattered sales records by selling 1 million copies within just one week of its Early Access launch on Steam. This achievement marks the fastest sales milestone for any game published by Krafton to date.

Launched on March 28, inZOI quickly became a topic of conversation after players discovered a glitch allowing them to run over and kill children in the game. Krafton swiftly addressed the issue, labeling it an "unintended bug" and rolling out a patch to rectify the situation.

Despite this initial controversy, inZOI has garnered a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam. It also achieved a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, securing the third spot in the Games category. Remarkably, it soared to the top of Steam's Global Top Sellers List based on sales revenue just 40 minutes after its release.

The game's in-game user-generated content (UGC) platform, Canvas, experienced significant engagement with over 1.2 million participants on launch day and more than 470,000 pieces of content uploaded.

IGN's review of inZOI's Early Access version scored it a 6/10, stating: "inZOI is a visually striking life simulator with plenty of ambition, but not enough depth as of its Early Access launch."

Krafton credits its pre-launch promotional efforts and continuous communication with the community for building trust and momentum leading up to the release. The inZOI global showcase and demo build were particularly effective in generating high interest, according to Krafton.

CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude and excitement about introducing inZOI to a global audience through Early Access, emphasizing Krafton's commitment to ongoing communication with players and nurturing inZOI as a long-term franchise IP.

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to enhance inZOI with future updates that will introduce new content, including mod support and new cities. All updates and DLC will be provided for free until the game's full release.

In response to player feedback, Krafton has committed to applying quick fixes through hotfixes in April to address reported issues. The company acknowledges the scale of inZOI's global community as a "next-level experience" and is navigating through "trial and error" to find the best ways to communicate with its player base.
