Pity System in RAID Shadow Legends: Does It Boost Your Chances?

by Carter May 01,2025

RAID: Shadow Legends is known for its RNG-based (random number generator) summoning system, which can be both thrilling and frustrating, especially during long streaks without pulling a Legendary champion. To mitigate this, Plarium introduced the "Pity System." But what is this system, and does it truly benefit free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players? Let's delve into the details and explore its effectiveness.

What Is the Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends?

The Pity System is a subtle mechanic designed to boost your chances of summoning higher rarity champions, such as Epics and Legendaries, the longer you go without pulling one. Essentially, if luck isn't on your side for an extended period, the game adjusts the odds in your favor until you finally land a good pull. This system aims to prevent prolonged "dry streaks" where players might summon dozens, or even hundreds, of shards without securing a top-tier champion. While Plarium doesn't explicitly mention this feature in-game, its existence has been verified through data mining, developer confirmations, and numerous player experiences.

Sacred Shards

For Sacred Shards, the base chance of pulling a Legendary champion is 6% per pull. The Pity System activates after 12 pulls without a Legendary:

  • After your 12th Sacred pull with no Legendary, each subsequent pull increases your Legendary odds by 2%.
  • 13th pull: 8% chance
  • 14th pull: 10% chance
  • 15th pull: 12% chance

Is the Pity System Helpful for the Average Player?

The effectiveness of the Pity System isn't straightforward. While it's beneficial in theory, many players argue that it often kicks in too late—sometimes after they've already pulled a Legendary champion. So, while having a Pity System is undoubtedly valuable, especially for a gacha game like RAID: Shadow Legends, it could be improved.

For free-to-play players, the constant grind and farming for shards can be disheartening when no Legendary champions appear. Therefore, the system is essential, but it could be enhanced with adjustments. For instance, reducing the number of pulls required to activate the Pity System from 200 to perhaps 150 or 170 could help players save more shards and feel the benefit more tangibly.

To enhance your RAID: Shadow Legends experience even further, consider playing on a larger screen using your PC or laptop with a keyboard and mouse via BlueStacks. This setup offers smoother gameplay and a more immersive experience.
