Battlefield 6 Devs Defend Match Pace Changes, Fans Disagree

by Thomas Jan 21,2026

The development team behind Battlefield 6, comprising EA and DICE, is implementing adjustments to the ticket count for its large-scale Conquest mode. However, the community remains skeptical that these modifications will successfully address the pacing of matches.

Details of the Conquest match structure update were shared via an official post on the Battlefield communication account. The changes apply uniformly across all Conquest maps in Battlefield 6, with the stated goal of ensuring matches "conclude at a more organic and natural pace."

To accomplish this, DICE has reduced the standard ticket size from 1000 to a unique target for each map. The new values range from 900 tickets on maps like Siege of Cairo and Empire State, down to 700 on Mirak Valley and Operation Firestorm. A complete list of the adjustments is provided below.

Updated Conquest Ticket Counts for Battlefield 6

Siege of Cairo: 1000 to 900 Empire State: 1000 to 900 Iberian Offensive: 1000 to 900 Liberation Peak: 1000 to 800 Manhattan Bridge: 1000 to 800 Operation Firestorm: 1000 to 700 New Sobek City: 1000 to 900 Mirak Valley: 1000 to 700

The official post clarifies the reasoning: "Previously, many rounds were reaching the time limit before one team exhausted its tickets. We will continue to monitor player feedback and match data to ensure the flow of each game feels appropriate."

While DICE aims to create a more natural rhythm for matches, players are not convinced that lower ticket requirements are the solution. Many express a preference for traditional 1000-ticket battles, valuing the tension and potential for dramatic, last-minute turnarounds. For a significant portion of the community, the primary obstacle to pacing is not the ticket count leading to timeouts—it is the existence of the match timer itself.

Content creator @MoiDawg echoed this sentiment, replying, "The simpler fix would be to eliminate the time limits altogether. Nail-biting, close games are an incredible experience, and this artificial timer disrupts potential comebacks. Let us play Conquest as intended. When I join a Conquest match, I'm not expecting it to end in 20 minutes. This is a significant misstep."

Other fans agree, with numerous responses to the announcement suggesting either extending the timer or removing it entirely. Some players express surprise that any change was deemed necessary, noting they have rarely, if ever, seen a match hit the time limit despite extensive playtime. While some report experiencing timed-out matches, even they believe that slightly lengthening the timer could resolve the issue.

"Couldn't they just add 10 minutes to the timer?" proposed one Reddit user.

Another reply on the platform quipped, "Heaven forbid a Conquest match lasts longer than 15 minutes."

In related news, DICE mentioned in a separate update that the Out-of-Bounds timer for vehicles on the Manhattan Bridge map in both Conquest and Escalation modes has been increased from five to ten seconds.
